in a movie whose main focus was to bring the rap star Eminem to the big screen, just being noticed was going to be difficult, however not only to Brittany Murphy get noticed, she helped solidify Eminem's performance and gave him credibility throughout the Hollywood scene. The movie, which could have come off as more redundant popcorn garbage regurgitated by Hollywood, actually comes off as a poignant and hard pressing look at the desire and dedication it takes to achieve ones goals. Brittany Murphy plays a streetwise girl who falls in love with Eminem however things are never easy in the real world, and their relationship comes off very real on-screen. The contrast in over all character from the cute role in Clueless is what really shows how talented Brittany Murphy was.
